Buttery Billion Dollar Biscuits

There’s no messing around when it comes to making biscuits. Now, we’re fine with using some form of bisquick biscuit mix to help the process move a little faster, but that doesn’t mean you can skimp on add-ins that will help make your biscuits the very best they can be. In this case that means lots of butter, plus two other, more unusual ingredients…soda and sour cream!

While it might seem strange to add soda and sour cream to your baked goods, we promise you we haven’t gone crazy; the additions make for moist, flaky biscuits that are some of the best we’ve ever had! Apart from what we put in the biscuits themselves, we also have a little trick up our sleeves regarding how these bad boys are baked – the trick is to add melted butter to your baking dish and plop your biscuit dough right down into it. The finished results are completely addictive, so prepare yourself: you won’t be able to have just one!

Billion Dollar Biscuits
30 minutes to prepare serves 8-10

INGREDIENTS
4 1/2 cups bisquick mix, store-bought or homemade
1 cup lemon lime soda
1 cup sour cream
6-8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon salt

PREPARATION
Preheat oven to 425º F.
Stir together bisquick, soda, sour cream and salt in a large bowl. It’s okay if dough is sticky.
Pour melted butter into baking dish, rotating the dish slightly so the butter spreads across the bottom of dish.
Take small scoopfuls of dough and drop them into buttered baking dish and place dish in oven.
Bake for 11-13 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown.
Remove baking dish from oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes, or until biscuits have absorbed melted butter.
Serve warm and enjoy!
