  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the mashed bananas, Greek yogurt or sour cream, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just incorporated. Be careful not to overmix.
  7. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Remove the banana chocolate chip bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  11. Once cooled slightly, transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
  12. Slice, serve, and enjoy this delicious banana chocolate chip bread as a snack or dessert!
