You have to make this!! When you need a fast and fabulous dessert to feed a crowd, this is it!
Ingredients:
- 1 stick of butter (8 tablespoons)
- 1 cup of water
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
For Mom’s Famous Filling:
- 1 pint of heavy cream
- 1 package (3.4 ounces) of instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1/3 cup of milk
Makes approximately 16 cream puffs.
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, bring the butter, water, and vanilla extract to a boil.
- Add the flour and stir constantly until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pot. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until the dough is smooth.
- Drop tablespoons of the dough onto parchment-lined cookie sheets.
- Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 25-30 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool.
- Slice the cooled cream puffs in half horizontally.
- For the filling, beat the heavy cream, instant vanilla pudding mix, and milk in a mixer until thick like whipped cream.
- Pipe or scoop Mom’s filling into each cream puff.
- Dust with powdered sugar.
